The Stering 40A Pro Digital battery charger is one of Sterlings larger battery chargers. Its competitive price makes it ideal for many boaters with larger battery banks. Please click on the tabs below to find out more...
.

When choosing a battery charger there are a number of key thngs you should consider when making your choice:
- How big is the battery bank you want to charge?
- Do i have more than 1 battery bank (or isolated batteries) i want to charge?
- How quickly do I want to charge my batteries?
- Where am i going to mount the charger?
.
As a rule of thumb you should choose a Sterling battery charger that is approximatley 10% of the total of your battery bank capacity (for example: 3 x 110 a/hr batts =330 a/hr, a good size charger would be 30A). If you choose a larger Sterling charger then you may be giving the batteries a harder life (fast charging generates heat) but will be able to charge the batterys faster. If you choose a smaller Pro charge battery charger then it will simply take longer to charge the batteries.
The sterling Procharge range of battery chargers (Sterling Pro charge 10A, Sterling Pro Charge 20A, sterling Pro charge 30A), and Sterling Pro Digital battery chargers have three positive outputs, therefore you can charge three separate batterys or battery banks with one Sterling battery charger.
A Sterling battery charger just like any complex electronic piece of equipment needs to be protected from overly damp or hot conditions. When mounting a charger you should allow for adequate cooling and position where the unit will not be exposed to very damp air, dripping condensation or any contact with water.
